John Bilodeau from Aurora Multimedia, visited CDI today and gave a presentation on the integrated multimedia solutions that they provide. We are excited about the opportunities for including Aurora Multimedia in the Media Space project.

Kennedy Violich Architecture, has agreed to take on the role of Project Architect for the design of the Media Space. Kennedy Violich Architecture brings with them expertise in the design and construction of media and technology intensive spaces. After an exciting meeting with KVA Principal and GSD Associate Professor, Sheila Kennedy, it seems clear that KVA will be a wonderful addition to the project team.

Mark Meagher and Scott Pobiner visited Herman Miller's Research and Development facilities over the past two days. They met with members from a variety of research groups and had the opportunity to tour the facility.

Scott and Mark presented the project to select members of Herman Miller's R&D teams and were very successful in opening a dialogue for Herman Miller's participation in the project. At the end of their trip all participants were very excited about the possibilities for testing our theories on flexible learning spaces and their concepts for work / learn space design.

The Media Space's first proposal was offered today to the Dean's Advisory Council on Information Technologies (DACIT) by the project's Primary Investigator; Professor Spiro Pollalis.

After the presentation, the council discussed the benefits that the renovation would offer the Design School and decided to grant permission to go forth with construction and design plans.

Preliminary design discussions are already underway the Media Space is off to a great start!
